[MEL] Swap day/Track Day Sat June 16
« on: June 02, 2007, 07:46:51 AM »

To coincide with the fixed.ord.au informal track day (see thread http://fixed.org.au/forums/index.php/topic,2360.0.html), we are also having a swap event.  The swap event will run throughout the track proceedings.  Check the link for meet times and location.  There's a $5 donation if you want to be part of the track racing, otherwise the swap part of the day is free.

Bring your unwanted bikie bits for trade or sale.  Not restricted to fixie bits either.  Fixer newbies are also most welcome to come on down to seek advice on bike setups and riding techniques.

As always, all are welcome.

We're trying to figure out if there is going to be enough interest in this.  If you intend to bring stuff down to Coburg for the Swap Day, please reply on this thread.

We'll probably use the grass infield for displaying the goods.  Big items like wheels/frames/complete bikes are most welcome if you can get them down.  Otherwise, bring a list/
photos/whatever.  Yes, we do have a classified section for this sort of thing ... but the main idea is to get people together and interact.

I'll have stuff to bring ... anyone else?

I've got a bunch of stuff I'd like to bring down: levers, calipers, bars, cogs, rings, track bike...

Ok ... looks like we've got 5 so far.

Keep 'em coming!  The more the better.

Sure.

'Swap' isn't literal I don't think. It's just stuff that's available for the right price, which might be as little as nothing at all.

In addition to selling, buying, swapping, giving and or taking - we'll have tools and tools available so if (say) you have a promblem that needs fixing - bring it along.

Please don't be shy - we are all softcore in the extreme and would love to help out. :)

Yup, bring your stuff to sell, trade or give away.

And about that mechanical problem thingy ... everyone is welcome to come down (especially newbies) for a chat.  There is only so much we can explain on the forums.  Always better to see how things are done in the flesh.

If anyone has mechanical problems that need attention, it's a good idea to post here first so we can bring the right tools along.
