Been to the site a few times, became a member recently and posting my ride now for judgement…
I began riding fixed about 6 years ago on a Repco Traveller I converted, then moved onto a 2005 Bianchi Pista (chrome, like everyone else).
In 2011 I purchased this new and built it up over time;
Frame: 2010 Felt TK3 60cm
Forks: 1 1/8 Felt Carbon
Steer: Cannondale oversized 60mm stem. Deda track drops or chopped Cinelli Pepper risers (depending on mood)
Drive: SRAM Omnium 48tx17 w/GXP bottom bracket
Wheels: Velocity B43 rims w/Formula hubs or Velocity Fusion rims w/Velocity hubs (depending on mood)
Tyres: Maxxis Re-Fuse 700x23
Saddle: Fizik Arione saddle w/ Felt carbon 27.2mm post
Brakes: Shimano 105 front brake
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a classic Cecil Walker track;
Frame: 1980’s Cecil Walker 57cm w/Campagnolo dropouts
Forks: Zeus 2000 crown w/Campagnolo drops
The other parts are all temporary ones I had lying around to get it rolling, then last week I placed an order for the following…
Steer: Nitto Jaguar NJS 80mm & Nitto B123 38mm track drops
Drive: Campagnolo Record 49t & 17t Miche cog
Wheels: Mavic Open Pro rims w/Phil Wood hubs
Tyres: Maxxis Re-Fuse 700x23
Saddle: San Marco Concor Supercorsa saddle & generic post
Brakes: Dia Compe clamp-on brake
I’m not sure what I will do with the Felt once these parts come but I will post up some more photos when the parts come for the CW.
Thanks mckenny & rhys.
My plan was to spray the Felt matte black so I taped it up to see what it would look like and never bothered to respray it. Gives it a bit of a ‘street’ look
It definitely is. I paid $750 for mine new - stock parts, from my LBS in 2011 and it’s been such a nice bike to ride.
If the top tube was straight (it angles down) and the front end was tighter would love it more… That’s just aesthetics and personal preference for the most part though.
I agree with the street cred of CW over Lo Pro so I take it as a blessing that they were out of stock.
I’m keen for these parts to arrive - that modern silver Thomson stem on this classic frame is killing me
i reckon that stem look alright currently, given the chrome fork and box front rim…with polished cranks/chainring and a matching rear wheel it’ll be tops!
