~25+ years of technological development, nutrition, training, preparation etc should have resulted in some improvement in the best time given the ongoing development cycles in our sport.
Still, Fkn fast and impressive
First time in many years I just haven’t watched it. A bit hard to retain interest when it feels like a one-team show. Plus the risks being taken at the speeds they now hold just make me cringe.
I’m also enjoying my club racing less, the injuries at speed are confronting.
But cycling is still one heck of a spectacle and I love the scenery. I’ll probs go back and watch the last week of highlights. Is Bridie still single? Asking for a friend.

Well guess what - the TDF FEMMES has been (so far) a really grand spectacle as well !
Watching Stage 6 now - scary but compelling viewing, a very lumpy stage with rough and twisty roads, descents etc.
I know there has been some criticism of the extent of the official live media coverage but that’s probably the old “glass half full / empty” conundrum.
Kudos given !
And tomorrow’s stage on Ventoux should be quite a spectacle.
Just hope the weather cooperates.

Yeah, it’s been great. Some cracking stage finishes and the GC is nice and close.
Not sure what you mean by glass half full, but the shitty coverage means we in the southern hemisphere don’t get coverage til way too late to reasonably watch. And there’s no coverage of break formations, heaps of drama gets missed, and it’s generally just bad for the sport. The TDFF regularly gets more viewers than stages of the men’s Giro and Vuelta, limiting the coverage is just straight-up sexist.
