Alloy frames on the street?

Just wanted to hear some opinions on riding an alloy frame in the street. I currently ride a steel frame and am wanting to upgrade to a stiffer alloy frame, but i’ve heard mixed opinions about alloy frames being too stiff for the road and making it annoyingly uncomfortable…

does anyone ride an alloy frame on the street and hows it go??

Ok my 2c. Cannondale Capo vs. Old Steel Build…
Alloy is heeps stiff, which i found uncomfortable.

I find that tyre size and pressure affects the comfort of your ride more than what the frame is made of.

Geometry and fit are factors too.

And the size of your arse.

I ride an Alloy UK Dolan track frame on the street, it is nice though I havent noticed that much of a difference apart from the lightness . You do lose ‘Street Cred’ though as I have found Alloy isnt as cool as steel …

haha! but your bike is fucken sweet! street cred be damned!

and the geometry on those capos is nice too. bloke that rides with us has one and he’s got no complaints. but then he rides seatless trials bikes in his spare time…
