Another newb...I apologise!

I gots Formula hubs. Haven’t had any problems with them at all.

Well that’s the hub done with then; Formula it is! I wouldn’t know the difference between hubs unless the hub broke apart during a ride, but I trust you guys’ opinions above all.

Cheers maties!

Having exams now so will have to put off the build for now unfortunately :frowning:

If budget is an issue, I wouldn’t bother building your own wheels as apart from having to source your own hubs and rims, you’re gonna have to pay for spokes and to have the wheel built. Going price is around $40-50 per wheel atm. Better bet is to wait for a cheapo 2nd hand wheelset to come up here or fleabay. Even then you only really need to hunt for a rear wheel as fronts can be sourced from anywhere so long as you dont mind non matching wheels.

Just bear in mind you dont need anything special to cut your teeth on.

just make sure you get a reasonable cog + lockring. I stripped my formula hub because the dodge stamped cog I had, didn’t mate properly with the locking and slipped. But with new hub, roseli cog and the lockring that came with the hub its all good
