i read a small portion of a study about component weight yesterday

the bit that sticks in my mind

over 90km of climbing on an average 4% gradient, 450g less weight on the bike will save less than 30 seconds off the overall time

I like the custom hubs he made.

I also know where a decent sized metal lathe lives, but damn!!! I don’t have enough skill to do that with one. Plus it involves getting a nice chunk of billet alloy ($$).
