Substitutions can happen at any time. “On the fly” or after goals. If changing on the fly, be careful. Penalties will apply for sloppy changes.
The player coming on may enter the court as soon as the the player coming off is AT the gate (i.e they dont have to be actually OFF the court), however if the player coming on enters TOO soon, or the player coming off interferes with the play or the ball while the new player is coming on, a penalty WILL be assessed (that means you go in the box, boo boo).
Games will be played in 2 halves of either 20 or 30 minutes.
Yep. Its an option that captains had in the NYC bench last year but that wasn’t used by anyone.
After the draft I’ll give captains 2 days to reach any trade agreements. Captains will be free to do as they wish in regards to trading except trading themself. 2 players for 1. Players for beer. Schedule preference. Whatever else you can think of, although I will have the final call.
All trade’s will be submitted to me by BOTH captains into my inbox. I’ll be discussing this with the captains in further detail once they are announced.
so i’ve canned laneway, and am coming to sydney early friday morning… perhaps we could all get together in the afternoon for polo and beers? even at that pub near by the courts - the Alexandria?
unless someone had another idea? i’m easy, would be cool to see everyone together again!
We definitely cannot play at Alexandria for bench. Sydney Council have said we can’t play a tournament without public liability insurance.
I think we are playing Blackwattle but that needs to be confirmed.
If people are thinking about playing at Alexandria on Friday afternoon, they will have to have signed indemnity forms and I would really want someone from Sydney there to deal with the council if they turn up (which they regularly do). I don’t mean to sound like a kill joy but we cannot afford to lose this court and we have to abide by the rules the council has put in place.
