I’ve come into possession of a 1972 (possibly older) Ken Self track bike (pics on an older post on www.bottlesandchains.com).
The bike would have been beautiful in it’s day… gold paint with see-thru candy apple red over the top… plus mostly hand painted decals.
Anyway, age has wearied her and it needs a repaint to bring her back to life… I’ve already contacted Greg Softley about making me some reproduction decals… but locally I don’t feel that there is anyone up to the task of repainting (or restoring) the paint/painted-decals back to their former glory…
Is there anyone out there who specialises in this field? Is there anyone you could recommend?
have a look at collectablecycles.com I have had a couple of bikes done and have seen some of the other stuff he has.
other wise you could contact Warren Meade at Bicycle Passion bike shop lakes entrance to see if he can recommend someone for you.

Cheers for the reply… er, sorry I’m a tad unclear, did someone at Collectable Cycles paint a bike for you or are you referring to the reference page on painting frames?
^^^ Had wondered about this guy after reading his article in Ride on the Massey Harris bike… but I couldn’t find a contact for him… I’ll have a look now I have better details (Google)
