bike sharing schemes lead to forced abortions!

9NEWS.com | Denver | Colorado’s Online News Leader | Maes says bike share threatens ‘personal freedoms’

Nate Strauch told The Associated Press that Maes was trying to say that the biking initiative is a “gateway program” being pushed by ICLEI on cities that eventually lead to extreme measures, such as the promotion of abortions and population control.

What a fuckin retard… jesus christ, how do these nutbags get airtime…

This is absolute fruit loop conspiracy theory territory.

A Republican candidate in the election for the governor of the state of Collorado, Dan Maes, claims that a Denver bike sharing program is part of an attempt to control U.S. cities because he believes it is affiliated with an international group, the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). The ICLEI is an association with more than 1,200 communities as members, half of which are in the U.S.A.

Maes’ spokesman told Associated Press that Maes was trying to say that the biking initiative is a “gateway program” being pushed by ICLEI on cities that eventually lead to extreme measures, such as the promotion of abortions and population control. Maes’ spokesman also said “it’s all part of this population control mentality that we as humans are the disease”.

Maes himself also said that he thought promoting more bicycling was pretty harmless at first, but he realized later “that’s exactly the attitude they want you to have.”

Maes’ crazed paranoia is quite incredible. Quite aside of that, he also had his facts wrong as (according to a spokesman for Denver’s mayor) the ICLEI has no connection at all with the Denver bike sharing program.

It’s very sad to see what politicians will say in order to get themselves some ‘air time’. However, its even more worrying that American politicians believe their electorate will accept those sort of claims as true.
