BNE Omnium

both, like at polo, you was a hot bitch i saw dom pervin at ya

I’m not sure on your maths, but 49/15 x 27 inches = 88.2. Unless that’s not the way it’s calculated any more.

thats the effective, but red has the actual, accounting for additional diameter including tyre, don’t quote me though

at 23c its 85.9, 32c is 88.

fixed gear calculator by FIXEDFORUM.it

GI are a ratio, and approximation, everyone knows and understands them 49/15 is an 88.2" like a 51/15 is a 91.8"
on high pressures I might use a 51/15 but on singles I’d go a bit higher with a 48/14 92.4"

If you want to get accurate then use rollout.

Spoken a lot about gearing, use too big a gear you will surge and as Scott says you will be a danger.
Winning alley cats does not give you the skills to race track, you need to learn- the unexpected more often than not causes accidents.
Come on a Tuesday get some skills and race experience, even old racers need to relearn.

Wonder if Billy is going to ask me to do the scoring ???

The last omnium I went to was awesome fun, I’ll be at the next for sure if it goes ahead.

Yeah I’ll come watch as far as skills go I think reds got them covered,
But getting him out there is another thing.
I think there’s a heap of crew that would love it that have yet to come out.

i lolled.

what is this rollout you speak of?

all the different calculators i use put 49/15 at a bees dick under 86 for a 23c tyre. i dont think i get it…

trackies just use 27 regardless of tyre size so 49/15 is 88.2

Actual rollout is only applicable to juniors

it’s relative though… i need to calculate what gear to employ based on the understanding i am riding 77" on 23mm tyres now - 44/15.
anyway! i am gonna be there tomoz.

is it still 6:30 kick off out there?

Yep

scott, this looks totally awesome and i know i said that i wanted to join up asap but i have to go to south africa on business for 5 weeks so i am going to miss out on it! when i get back in mid april i will be ready (in spirit, not legs) to join up. add a few weeks on to get my legs back and ill be in like flynn early may.

Get a three use licence - then you can ge a full one when you return, or better still wait till june and then you get a 6 month licence half price.
Talk to the CQ office about it. We’ll let you ride on a tuesday with the 3 day but not allowed to race opens, however may be allowed to race the omnium depending on it’s classification, which I am guessing will be restricted open, ie enter on the line rather than in advance via CQ website ie an open.
Ask Billy.

i wasn’t aware of this restriction, but if you’re a good bloke, put in two good tuesday showings, i reckon it might happen, DJGlad Rappa, Red, Ollie, Ian, where is you all at tonight? get out there for a look at least, so you know what to expect? and cheer us on we bloody need it!

so this is back on people, sat 28th, details TBC

28th of July?

If it is then - Buggar, I only just came across this and would have loved to do a few tuesday nights to be able to participate.

Started my taper three weeks early
Is it open a grade only and do you need a club kit or in branded to race
