I’m thinking about joining up, but before I do I would love to hear from members on there experiences in general with bv claims etc…
Also is anyone using there cyclesafe contents/bike/house insurance.
Please post any dealings, experience or anything else you have to say about them.
I rang today but the officer who took my report wasn’t in, I’ll call again tomorrow morning.
This afternoon I was riding down Gratton st, a lady in front of me was taken out by an idiot driver who cut in front of her pulling into a drive way. WTF is going on? motorist are becoming more aggressive and careless, this guy was more worried about his BMW then her welbeing I really hope she contacts the TAC and the police because the laws on her side and her bike was fucked up.
On the way this morning, woman straight across Ascot Vale rd in front and skidded into her passenger door. Everyone in a 2km radius was informed at volume just what a moron she was.

I got hit almost 2 weeks ago from behind, 30 stitches and a written off bike. It’s the first time i’ve been hit by a car in the 13 years i’ve been riding for.
Was even later than usual to work this morning, minding my own business and stopping for red lights etc and on St Kilda Rd so this unwashed Hipster dipshit (red check shirt, black helmet on a POS MTB) rolled a couple of red lights at ped crossings and intersections ahead of me, so the motorists HE has pissed off decide to take it out on ME by cutting off, shouting abuse etc.
Thanks hipster fuckhead. Arseholes like you should take a bus. I hope when lady Kharma catches up with you (and she will) she has force ten raging PMS.
no one should be taking anything out on anybody, everybody should just chill the fuck out.
Sure he ran a couple of reds, but do you really think that driver was ok with cyclists before before he saw the fixster run the red? I would say no judging by his behavior.
not saying the fixster was doing the right thing.
Drivers hate you no matter what you do. forever. or move to Europe. and buy a rainbow.
I don’t mean to take advantage of your misfortune - but this is a good reason to pull up hipster douches & supercommuters alike on their red light jumping. Supercommuters give me the irrates in particular - cycling is still quicker, even when you stop for the bloody reds, maaate, than taking the car. Whenever I see someone running a red I see a person who simply hasn’t allocated enough time for their commute - or a person who’s too lazy to lift their fitness levels. Running reds, and then tootling along at 20k/h, is a double irritation, because us law abidin’ citizens get to watch them roll through intersections, suffer ‘collective punishment’ from similarly irritated motorists, and then have to overtake them a minute later when they catch up, with the traffic that was also waiting at the lights bearing down on both parties, itching to run someone over, or ‘give them a good scare’. And who’s in the firing line then? Repeat at next red light.
Why wait for Karma to take effect at some unknown point in the future (sure, like the cosmos really gives a shit about your feelings… </Nietsche>) when you can take action right there? Without feedback, a worst-case-scenario for the douche is having some motorist take their eyes off the road, ‘run’ a green and then have to clean him out of their front grille. Save a douche, pull 'em up on jumping reds. I can see the stickers now.
Speak up, they can take the feedback ‘on board’ or leave it in the gutter, at least you’ve got it off your chesticles, and any motorists watching will see you’re not all the same … you weren’t wearing a red checkered shirt were you?
Bahhh!
I drive heaps and I love bikes! and I’m not alone looking around at lights you notice bike racks on a vast majority of cars, (I would bet that Drapac cyclist Driving Porsche Cayenne would feel like a royal muppet, if he were to ever hit a Rider)
That said,
Cyclist running red lights (I don’t care what they ride) is not doing us cyclist any favors.
shortsie, you post funny stuff. just remember the backlash when that pedestrian was killed. I believe you could have enough skill to avoid accidents but what about all the other muppets watching and following you
i lived in holland for a little while. cyclists there run red lights all the time. it’s human nature, get used to it.
i have some base guidelines, if there’s a car stopped at the light, or pedestrians crossing, i’ll stop. if it’s a pedestrian crossing and there’s no-one crossing or stopped, i’ll roll on through.
