so i got this guy and im trying to take off a cog but ive never used one before, got off the lock ring all fine but the cog isnt so straight forward, i tried just wraping the chain around the cog and turing it both ways but not exactly sure which way it should come. is the same or opposite way as the lockring? and do i just need a bit more force?

it’s the opposite to the lock ring.

cog is righthand thread, lockring is lefthand thread.
that way the cog will always tighten when you pedal forward.
same deal with pedals
