Crown Race Reducers

I was wondering if using a crown race reducer with a disc fork and a 44mm head tube would be dramatically more flexy and possibly dangerous than using a tapered fork? Anyone have any advice here? I have a frame ready to go, but am particular on the fork, I have one that is a straight 1 1/8 steerer that I could whack a reducer on, but I don’t want to unless I have to.

It’s fine. Cane creek make it super easy to do this.

Got a straight steerer disc fork in a 44mm head tube in the shed. Zero problems.

vgood, thanks bmo
