Strong enough for track racing?
Of course.
If anything- too strong!
I’ve got 4mm thick chainrings from CycleUnderground (which apparently exceeds the thickness of standard 1/8 chainrings). They’re great, but because I chose the ‘solid Sugino Zen’ style of chainring, they’re bloody heavy…
I just realised you mentioned ‘3mm’ at the start of your question. 3mm is the standard 1/8 thickness I’m guessing which should be perfect as well.
Cool! Then I will grind out my standing starts without a second thought.
Cheers.
