I do it when at the bottom of a hill which will require shifting down to small ring. Down in small ring, down a couple cogs at the back and I can keep a similar cadence for the start of the hill. With Campag’s ultra-shift I think it’s a real treat when it works.
Faffed around a bit on this at the weekend, mostly following HMCs and MikeDs recommendation: reduced FDs cable tension and adjusted limit screw so I get a bit of chain rub when in small ring/big cog. Chain rub seems to disappear while riding, or is too light for me to hear/feel.
No dropped chain on Monday nor this morning. And I did my best to shift like a pig. feelsgoodman
