Can’t believe my luck. I was driving through the burbs of T’ville and saw an Aboriginal chap riding a Kenevans track bike ( first track bike I’ve ever seen on the road here ) .I pulled over and asked if he wanted to sell it and he asked how much I’d give him , I said you tell me and he said 500 .I offered a lot less and he took it. I had to give him a lift and asked how he got it and he said his mate went to Brisbane and gave it to him. Turns out his mates father worked with me and the bike was sold to him by my mate that sold me the road frame he also had built by Ken Evans .The frame was built in 79/80 when Ken Evans was Leggarro and when my mate repainted it Ken Evans sent the Kenevans decals to him because he no longer had Legarro ones. It’s 54 /54 Columbus SL Tubing, with cutouts in bb and ends drilled out . The ends are Campag and on the forks Ken Evans mistakenly used 2 left hand ones which at the time my freind was pissed about because of the price he paid. As it is now ,it has super mighty cranks , Campag seat post, record road wheels re dished with suicide lockring, lamda rims .3ttt bar and stem. Bike has been stripped and is a work in progress with old mate never thinking he’d see it again.

Clearance was that tight when he got the frame his training strips rubded so he had to grind out the fork

And a pic of it’s sister.
Awesome story and nice bike.
How muuuuuch? That’s all that’s holding this story back from being a legend.
arsey is right. nice work.
$300.00 . Cash Converters would’nt touch it when he tried to sell it once before. By the way I was’nt cashed up and had to get him to follow me down the road to an ATM to get the money. I’m going to run superbe pro cranks ,wheels and nitto drops to get it back to original and swapping the cranks on it and getting rid of the Campag record wheelset.
This rules.
Nice bike. Awesome story.
that is the best story.
fucking jealous
Upgrade and clean . Pelissier hub, rigida rims , Vittoria rubino tyres, superbe cranks ,campag pedals, Selle Regal seat ,Nitto bars and Sr royal stem
very nice
So what’s the idea with the perforated track ends? Aesthetics? Squeezing out every gram available?
Far king super ride.
i believe you just answered your own question,
It was done at my mates request when being made, for the same reason he drilled out his dura -ace down tube shifters . If you’ve ever been competitive you will understand.
