# "fixed.org gold", an idea??

here’s a thought for members and the admins (I have been very actively engaged in work-avoidance this week)…how about a forum section called “[fixed.org](http://fixed.org) Gold”?? or some other appropriate name…sort of a ‘best of’…
(this is just put forward as an idea, embrace or ignore it as you will)
There is gold posted here that get lost in the day to day chatter (even searching for them is getting harder with the volume of stuff) - ‘Gold’ posts could be particularly good tech ideas etc etc, ride or event reports, and/or some of the really piss funny stuff - McKenny’s ROFLCOPTER springs to mind fairly freely - so how about a section that makes it easier to find and access these posts?
Credit where it’s due, I pinched the idea from another forum that I belong to (another ‘fringe’ element of another popular sport, but one that is unlikely to result in a range of special purpose vegan shoes :evil:)
Here’s how it might work…
If the [fixed.org](http://fixed.org) admin team ‘flags’ a topic/post, old or new, worthy of the ‘gold’ sub-forum, it’s copied into the ‘gold’ section, with a link back to it’s original location. The original topic remains where it is, for general posting/replies, though the ‘gold’ copy will be locked. As the original topic is updated, so might the gold copy. we will also update the 'goldcopy. The ‘gold’ copy could also be renamed so that the title explains what the post is actually about.
Maybe all [fixed.org](http://fixed.org) members could participate in selecting topics/posts recommended for the ‘gold’ forum as well. Maybe done by a ‘Report Post’ function, to inform the KFDU team of any current or previous topics that are recommended for ‘gold’. Members could go to a ‘Report This Post’ screen where they can select a post and ‘‘recommend it for gold’’ inclusion and submit to the admins (or whoever) for approval.

Interesting,
I had a similar idea, However me thinks we could have a tick box next to posts that would allow us to “nominate it”…
Simply put the posts with the most nominations would be placed in the “gold” and after a while they may even stay up longer, or be replaced by new rated posts that may have more numbers. Eh? Eh?
On a side note it would be very interesting as it would reflect on the fix org community :mrgreen:
