Bike on right - bike/panniers belong to Velo Estate. framebag/camping gear belongs to MikeD.

Velo Estate (aka Blakey and Kate’s house): for all your beardo enabling needs.

Yeah, but I took out the platinum package, so I get title sponsor.

Na, that frame bag is deadlegs very own!

and Blakey, there was no argument over title sponsor, I don’t wanna mess with the big fish.

is blakey a fish

Also looks like you guys had mad good weather. I am jealous.

I think so.

i’d forgotten about this, but you weren’t far off kate. for as the night drew longer, colder and windier, our eyes became heavy, transfixed by the flames, our bellies full of bbq, beer and maltesers. conversation was short, muted, content. a lady from the next campsite offered us more wood as the flames began to fade. we politely accepted knowing only too well the fire’s death was deliberate, for we were well and truly exhausted, and only sleep could provide us with the fire to do it all again the next day.

then we made out.

lolz.

this explains everything.

no, just a peskytarian.

What a sweet gif

yeah, except it makes me think of this for some reason…

Understandable.

Different, sure! More? Not for me, and as with a lot of things, it depends on what you’re after.

I don’t know what $50 spent with Andy that you’re talking about (I assume it has something to do with roobaix), but the principles of paying for people’s time to organise things, making a memorable event happen and taking some initiative/being original/starting something/opening people up to new experiences apply to Andy (at the very, very least) as much and (almost certainly) more so than here.

If you had said just about any other race organiser I’d have been on board.

Only just saw this.

Camping scared me off this one, and to be fair, the whole carrying your own stuff, and the fact that it went for two days, and didn’t involve the aforementioned swanky bar, and bikes, bikes are a bit annoying. Fix all those things, I would have totally been in.

you must’ve also missed the whole bit about how you wouldn’t have to carry anything… but you still wouldn’t have come chux, don’t pretend. that’s ok though, i still think you’re alright.

yep, we were talkin about the roobaix, and to be honest, comparing the two wasn’t that serious to begin with. the two events are completely different. i’d have said that if this event had’ve worked, there was massive potential to create a memorable event that would’ve opened people up to new experiences (overnight camping trips) without having to fork out the hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars needed to setup a decent bikecamping kit.

organising the roobaix must be a massive job.

no doubt.
my point was more to do with actual tangibles. get your shit carried for you, have dinner and a campsite provided, etc etc.
the roobaix, you get to ride on a bunch of cobbled streets that you could do anytime, you just happen to be doing it with a couple thousand other freds.
this is in no way meant to denigrate the roobaix, was just pointing out what you get for your fifty clams.

Right on  and i wasnt shitting on anyone elses work, i reckon this was a good idea and agree it couldve been great for a heap o people.

$50 for the chance to make out in a tent is totally worth it!
