Forest Highway - Perth to Bunbury

G’day

The word around the place is that there will be a ride (two actually) of the new Perth to Bunbury Highway.

There is a thread on the ride in the Australian Cycling Forums. This was posted today:

I phoned the Southern Gateway Alliance this afternoon regarding the bike ride and I have confirmation on the 20 September, that there will be 2 rides with the first being a family ride of an unknown distance and secondly a return ride of the complete length of the new road

The complete details are still to be released, so times and starting locations will be released then, and may be found on http://www.sgalliance.com.au/npbh/release.html

Might be a good fixie ride.

any idea how long this would take???

and does this mean we have to get our bikes down to bunbury first and ride back up??

G’day

The ride is 32 km.

Im down for it - n have a vehicle suitable as a crash car for maybe 4 or 5 bikes?

… Though yet to figure the logistical challenge of driving/riding …

Unless it’s a return ride?

Still no word on the SG Alliance site - typical roadworkers… Hhmmmphf…!

G’day

There is more news in the Australian Cycling Forums discussion thread I linked to early. CycloSportifare organising the event I believe.
