Gefsco Track - first cut

This arrived via courier today. Thought I’d throws some bits on it to see clearances.
Seller said there was some issue with the headset, yeah man, overtightened. Seems ok but haven’t pulled it apart to clear & grease yet.

Rizors are for fun and didn’t have grips. Have some track drops which have long Soyos so too hard to get off & on tonight.

Definitely needs TB14s or something similar, OpenPros maybe.

so much potential, i like where this is heading

Nice frame, looks to be in great condition.

good pickup, and +1 on the tb14s

I like the paint

This! The paint job is sweet as! I’m looking forward to see where this is going.

Low flange Phils to TB14s would be so rad!

+1

Is nice, I like.

The paint is pretty cool, but the is the ‘good side’ and other side has lots of chips and a couple of large scrapes to the metal. Not sure what to do about this. Will post some close ups tonight. Definitely not refinishing this baby but might see if I can touch up & clear coat.

I’ve got a set of TZ14s & HF Phils coming in black.
What about some Mavic Reflex tubs on LF Record hubs?

try using a zip tie to wedge the grip up and create a gap then squirt some cheap hairspray (or water) inside the gap. this will help loosen the grip and make it easier to remove. even more fun is to get a hold of an air compressor and use that to free it in a similar way.

Long shafted ball headed allen key and a drop or 2 of metho. Can’t beat it. Oh yeah, nice frame too:)

Leave it in its well used state… Looks awesome

I normally roll track grips off like re-rolling up a rubber lol

Squirt some WD-40 down between the track grips and bars. They’ll slide right off.

I normally use a squirt of hairspray and a chopstick but that’s just me.

So to keep with the rat rod feel what should I be looking for in hubs?
NJS hubs lightly soiled with the sweat of a pro Keirin rider?

I’m thinking I want to keep it Asian rather than Euro.

nice paint job, tight clearance… i like

great buying. good to see it’s in Adelaide!

Have a set of new Dura Ace 7600 cranks and just ordered a Hatta R9400 for it.
Track drops are on so will post more pics soon.

help me out here, because i’m new to this… what’s so great about tight clearances?

^ what about liking something means it’s so great?

i’ll clarify my question… what about the tight clearances do you like? i’m confused.
