so, riding home this evening, get to my house, thought i’d go the extra block to see if my girlfriend was home. riding along minding my own business, this kid in a ute does a rapid out-of-nowhere u-turn right in front of me. first swore he didn’t see me, then swore he thought he had plenty of time to turn…
no broken bones. plenty banged up. landed on my head (helmeted) and left shoulder, and sundry other contact points. thanks to the really nice ladies who were on the road and picked me up and stopped me swearing at the kid. he sez he’ll buy me a new wheel.

yep, he did that thing where you pull over, then swing real hard and gun it without any indication. i had nowhere to go. i couldnt brake hard enough and if i hadve swerved harder wouldve gone under his front wheel. went over the bonnet instead.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of my hillbrick…

I caught a branch in my front wheel. Bike stopped dead. I kept going.
Three buckles in the tubing and a fucked shoulder later…
