Help I am diseased!!!

I need a cure… no doctor can help me!

Just got started in all this fixed/ss stuff and i have already collected six frames… 3 crap, one hillbrick that I am riding now and a 50’s super elliott and a 50’s 3 star malvern star.

i cant stop and i aint got any money left… what is the feckin secret???

Des is about to explain to you how it’s best for everybody here if he takes your stuff.

Quite right.

Only I can cure you. All you have to do is give all your stuff to me.

Unconvinced? Just ask Roguedubb, Yeehaw and 853.

Des

This aint no place to cure such illnesses!

Hanging out here you’ll get worse before you get anywhere near better

But yeah, watch out for that Des fellow, he’ll convince you the only way forward is to give him all your stuff. Just remember: He is sicker than you are!

Secret? There is no secret, it breaks down like this:

begin hoarding
if hoarde > hoarding space
then remove non-essentials (furniture, bed, washing machine, children, spouse)
else increase hoarding space

The only other option seems to be: make sure you never have any money at all, ever and no credit card, and no friends who are willing to give you stuff that you can pay for later.

Well, that’s how most people seem to operate. Me, I bought 1 bike, 1 nice bike and now I’m no longer tempted (just ignore the other two bikes I have and the 24" I’ve been contemplating and the funny bike which I have to try out).

I am fucked… doomed I tell you… my cc is fucked… my bank account is fucked… i just sold four pieces from my art collection and my living room walls are bare… i am now trying to flog my paintings off… just finished riding home from work and my legs are fucked from no gears… and i have no girl to feed and support me in other ways… whilst i surf eBay looking for bargins and who understand my head…

des mate…?!?

and now all i want to do is go out for a night ride!!!

I like to buy a nice bike, again and again.

We all understand Gappy … whilst I understand the need to accumulate bike bits, might I suggest getting into only the quality stuff that is worth hanging on to. Yes, you can get a $50 crap frame from ebay. It’s only $50 right? But 4 crap frames later and you’re out $200 and nothing decent to ride.

Des

This is truth.

ahhh but a lick of paint and a few bits n bobs to complete the picture… next thing you know my mates are wanting them when they are pissed down the local… flog um for 200 bucks a pop… its a win win situation!

now that is shameless!!!

So just give it all to Des and buy something high quality.

Then give the high quality one to Des.

Speak for yourself. I’m still waiting on some bike bits you owe me.

you can accumulate frames with soul and spirit for next to nothing but as I’ve discovered again and again, when it comes to repainting and rebuilding them, the bargain you got the frame for goes out the window. I have 11 operative bicycles and about half as many again frame projects which are demanding money.

Just keep an eye on the important things in life, try setting aside $20 a week into a savings account or something so that you don’t run yourself into ACTUAL financial trouble over something that’s meant to be fun.

having said that, wanted: nervex professional lugs, on frames or off.

Well well…lucky for you, Rhino collects art!!!

Ahhh. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone.

“My name is Brad, and I’m addicted to bicycles…”

Is this Forum the equivalent of AA only for Bicycle alcoholics?

We are after all, hiding behind aliases, so we are in essence anonymous

if you are serious I got a whole goodie bag full of artworks… depends what your interested in… i have held yearly exhibitions and donated the money to local charities… still have peices from the past shows…

most of my works are artists who started on the streets… and just put in an application for a shop front with a mate so we can open our own gallery in melbourne.

happy times a head touch wood!
