Hillbrick Bikes

Anyone know who sells Hillbrick bikes in Victoria?

I want to see one of these

in the flesh and see if it’s any good. Looks like good value for money.

I think there is a store out Burwood way (not sure of the exact suburb, but i know how to ride there) that sells them, or I am possibly getting confused with hillman bikes. Either way, I’ll ask my brother who lives out that way to have a peek in the store window to see how wrong/right i am.

Theres a good review of this bike in the current issue of Bicyling Australia.

Check it out.

Looks like a winner for the dollar. Easy to upgrade if you want.

Yeah I agree. The only thing is the possible sizes for me are either 53 or 56. I want a track bike with a shortish top tube so it’s got some TTing ability which means the 56 is too long. But I’m not sure if 53 is too short.
Hence the need to fondle one up close

Do you need a custom frame (ouch on the wallet)? Who builds good custom frames in melbourne?

Try http://www.thylacinecycles.com/ or Paconi, no website

or if you want pretty come up to sunny Brisbane - http://www.llewellynbikes.com/main.htm

I don’t need custom but 3cm between sizes is a bit more than usual.

I wish I could afford a Llewellyn.

Show us yer lugs!

looks like Shifterbikes might have them:

Wow that’s a nice frame. I like the geometry - 73 degree head tube and 74.5 degree seat tube suits me well. Not too fond of the custom-ours-or-none seatpost though.

In any case, it’s going to cost around AUD1000 anyway just for the frameset. That’s getting more pricey than I was aiming for. I started off thinking a nice little $900 Hillbrick or Raceline track bike but now it’s getting out of hand

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check with Matt about how much it’ll cost here.

just wish to ask for confirmation about the hillbrick…

if i get this bike, can i easily do some upgrades on this bike? and i dont have to worry about compatibility issues right? i.e. wheelsets, cranks, etc…

thanks

all standard parts and threads. only issue is if you one with a miche crank cause they have their own bcd.
otherwise very good bike for the money.

Hi mate I’m only new but, errr, http://www.hillbrick.com.au/

Yeah,

thanks a lot lupine128, i appreciate your help.

The hillbrick branded cranks are Rosellis - they use an ISIS bottom bracket, otherwise they are pretty standard.

Great value!

I have 2 Hillbricks…an older steel one (last year’s track bike that is the ‘pink’s’ successor on the road) and a new super stiff alluminium frame / carbon steerer from lupine for the track. Couldn’t be happier with mine…I’d recommend them to anyone

and i have one for sale again yet again.
56, scott CR1 carbon road forks, standard everything else.
perfect condition,
$900 firm.

Im pretty sure bikenow in south melbourne are doing some track stuff now. I saw a hillbrick in there…
