JLN's music thread

I don’t get it.

Who is floating your boat in shoegaze?

The classics of course (My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive), but im also very into Deafcult (v late to party I know) and Whirr (ditto).

Shoegaze is one of those genres where I don’t mind it being extremely derivative because generally the more like My Bloody Valentine the better.

I have times when I listen to a lot of this. Those are ok times.

agreed.

Something Wrong

I have found this to be very enjoyable lately:

Also this for the throwback late 2000s hardcore feelings:

I’m immensely looking forward to this bluesy-inspired, post-metally album

I really like that! Thanks Luke.
I’ve been listening to this, and the rest of Ragana’s discography heaps lately.

I’ve listened to the album a few times now. It’s scratching an itch left by the disbanding of The Chariot

Nice! They have a self titled EP from a few years ago that I got right into (checkout Castlemania/White Pyramid etc), this is all new stuff which I’ve only listened to a couple of times.

Along the lines of The Chariot - there is/was a band from Newcastle called Safe Hands which you’d dig!

Low Rider - War

Best AFI album - Black Sails in the Sunset or The Art of Drowning?

Art of Drowning for me.

Well played Zach

Probably Black sails… But I’m pretty partial to sing the sorrow
