Anyone know what the deal is with the front BB? Is it just sized larger to match the huge bottom tube?
That colnago would be scarily noodly. Would not ride. 25mm tyres and calipers too, eek.
The front BB is eccentric, for tensioning the timing chain.
The shark is a little better, but if I were to replace the motobecane it would be with an UOS tubed, coupled, di2 & disc tandem.
25mm tyres and calipers are fine on a racing tandem, it is pretty common for fast American teams in the flatlands. The Colnago tandem frame is stupidly designed (certainly not engineered). That frame is NOS for a reason. They were never popular and only ever used for sunny Sunday afternoons posing in the park with the missus.
