Interesting creation of what AI can do these days. Because I’m sure Schwalbe aren’t making those tyres. As for your comment. Pot, kettle, black, me thinks. Your latest gravel bike soon to get isn’t going to have suspension. Yet I ride my ATBs primarily on gravel and you’re mocking me for not wanting suspension? If you’re in love with suspension for everything, then get some on all your bikes. Including your road bikes. After all, road MCs have suspension, so why not road bicycles? I’m happy with my self imposed limitations. I’ve got others: - No electronics other than lights. - No carbon. - Nothing expensive. - Nothing oestentatious. - Nothing super light weight. I suspect no hydro brakes are coming too. Dropper posts are more of a safety item, so I’ll probably keep the one I have. Don’t know about a dropper for the Avanti yet. ---

Well here you are in a MTB video thread bemoaning suspension on MTBs it appears. I have no need for suspension for the type of largely smooth gravel I do. There are a few gravel bikes available with a short travel front suspension fork. I haven’t investigated lately but they were over $10k. I don’t think he’s bemoaning suspension as he gives commentary while riding with a suspension fork. He’s core statement IMO was about the focus going off the riding and onto the equipment. I agree with that. But on top of that, MTB has largely shifted to downhill\_skiing on wheels. XC MTB as a fitness sport is a sideshow now. Where XC was the main event when I first started. They even had to make XC more difficult to appease the masses. By far the most popular segment according to sales, is enduro. Which is a pedalable downhill bike. That’s why I choose to remain an outlier. ---

I was referring to you, not the content of the video, based on previous posts and “the over emphasis on equipment”. I did not watch the video, apologies. I am uninterested I must admit. I prefer better equipment in many things and just try to get the best I can for the price I am prepared to pay. Direct from China for most of my stuff now. I dislike buying and selling stuff second hand also so avoid it. For me the challenge of riding is the aerobic workout I get, largely. I am not interested in testing my skills, rather my cardiovascular system. Further it is my version of mindfulness or meditation. We have different reasons for choosing our gear and neither is wrong, just have different perspectives. ---
