my whip - bro!

my whip
its a nz built tarini firenza. from my research the frame is from mid 80’s - medium level road bike.
tarini were smallish bike builders. all their frames were made in asian then imported but i am
pretty confident mine was hand built by mark mclean. the seat post tube has a sticker
“high tensile steel, designed and constructed by mark mclean”

there are some patches of rust on it but i am short of funds so i can’t really afford the
powdercoat or paint job, yet.

i brought the bike off ebay for $94 and stripped it back. original ebay purchase here. the excess equipment off it is currently
being used to build my other “bad weather” fixie. a peugeot U08 in very average condition.
80% built.

the set up:
tarini firenza road frame
Alien wheelset 16t
NOS Metal presta valve caps - rare!
wrapped in gatorskins
Alien crank set 46t
Tange BB
Selle San Marco Squadra Ti [titanium rails] saddle
NOS Shimano 105 headset
Nitto NJ Pro NJS Stem - 80
Nitto B-125 NJS bars - 40’s
Champs Black 2mm
Welgo MTB pedals - will upgrade once the ban on spending any more money on bikes is
lifted by my wife. these are taken off my scott reflex 40 pictured here on a local ride.
