Painting lugs, what paint

When painting lugs, is there a particular paint and prep that you use? Is it possible to hand paint the lugs with hobby enamel paint or does it look crappy?

I spent hours on hours masking mine;

Then used “crome in a can”. Everything worked ok, just that the ‘crome’ was not all that crome like in the end.

Your could hand paint them with a brush, but that could be a pain as well.

It is a shit load of work and might not be worth it.
