my parents used to threaten me with being sent to the “naughty boys home”.
when i was extra shit, they’d even pack a little bag for me, put me in the car and then pull up to the driveway of what i was assured what the Home before i’d promise to be good etc…
being young, unable to read and a somewhat dim child i later found out it was just the local private school that had scary looking gates .
