Powerwall

sup thread.

An update to the poles&wires article this weekend:

My new energy reality: two people in Hobart, 100% electric, no gas or wood, average over last 90 days: import winter/spring: 8kWh/day, export 9.3kWh/day. Working on how to burn more of the generation rather than exporting it for 1/6 of the retail cost and chasing efficiencies through insulation from here on in.

Grow house?

Get rid of all your dynamos and revert to rechargeable batteries?

Choice worked out the payback time on Powerwall.

Their calculations don’t take into account increased electricity costs over the period, which (assuming they go up) would reduce the payback time.
