I have been looking at upgrading my current ride, to something around the $2000 mark, what are emc2 etape r2.6’s like? I can pick one up second hand off a friend of my dads, and his son rode it for about 6 months, before losing interest in bikes all together. He asked me what I wanted to pay for it, and I didn’t have a clue what to say. I was thinking around the $700-$800 mark, considering there $2200 new? Its a 54cm, which is approximately my size, and I don’t think its a particularly bad bike? The left over $1200 odd would go towards bar tape, saddle, and clip less shoes and a kit of some sort, maybe a slightly upgraded wheel set instead if need be.
Any personal opinions or experience with this model? or emc2 all together? Thanks

if you’re just getting into road, jump at whatever is priced appropriately, fits and looks aight… the evolution will begin from there
i began on an old $50 malvern star silhouette, i am now looking at upgrading. i can get the emc2 for $700, worth getting?
2 seconds worth of google searching shows that you can pick this bike up for under a grand brand new. so $700 with fuckall use is probably a good deal.

or the sellers other mbc ultra r5, or all of the above? 
There’s so much info on roadies in this price bracket: time to be a big boy/girl and make a decision. No-one is gonna do it for you.
