Shimano Hydro Road Groupset

^ Shiet, glad I haven’t purchased my R685 shakes yet. Might wait out for the Ultegra ones - what’s the ETA?

I’ll be using Stan’s Grail rims for my 11s/disc road tubeless setup.

$100 on wiggle, good width, profile & weight.

Double post.

Wow, I was only on Bikeradar yesterday, checking to see what April Fools crap they’d put up…

The silver was just a thought, but when it comes down to it, not a lot of silver options available in shakes. So will probably end up going down the black route for those and mix and match the rest.

Happy with the tubeless Stans Arch Ex wheelset on the 429C,

Oct for the 105’s.

Bit narrow on the internal, just 20.3mm?

I think I want something over 23mm internal, not planning on running skinny tires on mine.

I’m not planning on running skinny tires either.

Both rims you were looking at have a similar internal width to the Grail doe. A23: 18mm, Archetype: 21mm…

All other tubeless friendly road/CX/light XC rims have similar internal widths too. See: Pacenti SL25, WTB’s various offerings etc

Finally found some RS-685’s in stock.

Item title says

Shimano ST-RS685 Hydraulic Disc Brake STI’s & BR-RS685 Disc Brakes

but text says

Kit includes ST-R685 STI, BR-RS785 brake callipers with pads, hoses, and mineral oil (without rotors or adapters)

Time to shoot off a clarifying email as 785 calipers are the preferred option.

Weird, Wiggle has the same inconsistency between the title and text.
Bike24 says 785 calipers http://www.bike24.com/p2102807.html. It’s heaps cheaper from Bike24 too, once you have it in your cart and VAT is removed

Yeah, bike24 was the cheapest by about $100 when I got mine. I got other bits too, to spread the postage out.

Same owners? Or just sloppy cut and past work from one competitor to another?

Saw 426 Euro via your link, logged into my Bike24 account and it dropped to 365 Euro and I haven’t even got to the checkout yet.

Shifting focus a little bit, what are preferred rotors? Mine are juuuuust about fucked. I’ve hear Quaxar are quite good and mad light. Ideas?

Got a pair of 160mm Jet Blacks (84gm each)spare from a commuter wheelset I bought ages ago, no good to me as the dually runs Shimano XT 180mm front and 160mm rear (134gm).

talk to me about dis things.

PM replied to.
