Just found this thread. Good place, was there on Sat. You guys seemed pretty lucky as there was some competition for this as a bar. A few of my mates were seriously looking to start one in the same spot but they were told the alley needed 24-hour access and they couldn’t use it as a licensed drinking/smoking area.
Like what you did with the place though. Decent Spanish beer.
yeah, we’ve been told by at least 4 groups they wanted to use it as a bar, though the building had been empty near on 2 years when we got it.
turns out the alley isn’t the one that the council said needs 24 hour access - that one was built over in the 40s by the warehouse to the right.
the one we use was never an alley, it was built as a driveway 20 or so years back.
