You’d be needing a front brake Eirlie and there is only one guy bothering fixed and he’s a pretty good climber and not entirely aware of what he’s in for… We road the trip one way in 2h 40min last time. I wish I was able to make it as I know I could take a good chunk outa that time but alas it is not to be.

Just for the record, I’ll be taking my new bike, set up with with road bars+hoods and front+rear brakes, to ride fixed and (occasionally) singlespeed. It’s the closest I’ll come to a roadie for now.

The combination of the long, fast flats on the highway down there and the hills of the Stanwell Tops make riding fixed seem a bit silly.

By the way, is it actually all the way to Wollongong, or just to Scarborough?
