Start saving SugarKane

This thread went in a direction I hadn’t predicted.

i always imagined this level of componentry would be utilised on a bicycle that would get its share of riding, around all areas and conditions, and as such you might consider a 29 for the hillier days, but in the interests of weight savings i guess you’d already be on a compact?

I am riding compacts but not for the weight factor, I wanted to spin more.
We don’t have any real monster hills in Sydney with out traveling well out of the city. There are plenty of steep hills but mostly they are very short. I’m running compact 11-25 suits my desire to spin more.
I like the 11-25 the box doesn’t really have any holes in it.
Might need to think about the 29 if I go to europe for a little cycle touring next year

Touring on a 5 kilo roadie would be interesting??

Not the panier and rack type of touring

The 6 day mountain type… 810km and 16500m of climbing…
There will be no tents, the days will start and end in nice hotels… :smiley:
