Ferg - Are those bikes tall enough to be called tallbikes?
They seem to be closer in concept to the Sillgey Piccolo (see Sillgey Cyclery, Inc. ) - with about the same distances between the pedal, saddle & handlebar as you’d find on a ‘full size’ roadie or FG bike - but with the lower rotational inertia and shorter wheelbase that comes with small wheels.
The main differences between the Piccolo and Ferg’s tallbikes are the tallbikes’ BMX-tough build, the height of the bottom bracket, and the fact that riders of the tallbikes can’t stand over the frame (due to the high bottom bracket).
I generally like bikes that are a bit different — but I simply don’t understand the point of those short tallbikes.
I just spotted this post on the “weird 20" tarck bike looking things” thread (http://www.fixed.org.au/forums/t7146-3/ ):-
“saw a dude ride by the shop the other day on a ‘tallbike’ constructed from two 12 or 16 inch wheeled kiddie bikes. was the same seat height as a large MTB.

I guess Ferg’s tallbikes are kinda the same idea - with kinda the same raison d’être
yeah they’re not proper double frame things. maybe they can be TallBikeFreeStyle.
Just a couple of things to go.
as i said to you last night, this thing looks fucking awesome. i love the agricultural but effective joining of the top fork to the bottom stem.
