The Fixed that should not be.

This was originally going to be a cheap roadie commuter that I picked up off ebay. However, under closer inspection the rear wheel was shafted so I decided to convert it into a fixed commuter.

The original bike was a Sekai 2000 (Tange tubing, Suntour drop outs).

Parts list:
Front Wheel - 27" Araya rim with Suzue hub (from original bike)
Rear Wheel - 27" Velocity Rim with Novatec hub
Tyres - Vittoria Zaffiro
Cranks - Sugino (from original bike)
Chain Ring - FSA 42T
Cog - FSA 16T
Lock Ring - Formula
Chain - KMC Kool
Seat Post - Kalloy
Saddle - Charge Bucket
BB - Original loose ball with new bearings and grease.
Headset - Tange
Stem - Eda
Bars - Sakae Road King (from original bike)
Bar Tape - Ghetto inner tube
Brake Lever - Grande Compe Shot
Front Brake - Dia Compe (from original bike)

First bike I’ve put together so I’m pretty happy with the result.

Arguably better than the Metallica song you appropriated in your title.

All the bits came from this very forum!

Good job on the build Chris, love the colour, did you paint it?

Thanks Lachlan. I got it powder coated, figured it would be a better finish than I could achieve in my garage.

Hi xcx,
nice looking build!!
how are the charge bucket saddles, i’ve been thinking of getting one

Nice!

They’re pretty comfy

Hi. You just earned yourself a 72hr ban.

Blakey you are evil, I love it!

Haha, seems to be attracting the trading access crew.
