the flint: reborn

I’ve had this frame for almost two years, but a bit over a year ago a friendly driver decided that I did not need my bike or legs and drove over them. The bike came out pretty well considering, stays were scratched and head tube was slightly off angle, cranks bent, rear rim bent, and bars, brake lever and saddle destroyed.
I gave her to the guy that built the frame originally (locky flint), and he corrected the head tube, and then it sat around in his shed while I thought about buying parts but never did. Eventually I found a nice track bike for a good price in which to strip parts off, and rebuilt it, and now she is just waiting till I can work out how the hell track racing works here.
Many thanks to locky for fixing the frame and building it in the first place, it’s amazing how strong a good steel frame can be, especially when faced with a 2 tonne 4wd (I wish my legs held up that well).

Parts list:
-‘flint’ track frame
-wound up carbon track forks
-cane creek S6 headset
-miche primato hubs laced to mavic GP4 rims with vittoria pista CS tubs, dura ace 15T sprocket
-mavic 631 ‘starfish’ cranks, 48T chainring, campag centaur BB
-some sort of black track bars
-PRO LT 90mm stem
-deda metalstick black seatpost, selle italia SLR saddle
-DID NJS chain
-TIME impact pedals

I like the build, put up some well lit photos soon though?

yeah sorry, only got shitty camera phone

I have the same problem meaning even if I had a nice bike it’d still end up with shitty photos that wouldn’t do it justice.

took it to the track tonight (just a casual session), managed a 14.55s flying 200 which I gather is alright.
bb started to unwind itself a bit, not sure if I just didn’t do it up tight enough initially or these bb’s do that

also there is a little screw in ‘knob’ that goes on the chainring right over the crank arm. changed the ratio when I got home to 49/14 as 48/15 was too spinny, but I didn’t put the knob back on. is it needed? I notice my cross bike also has it but I don’t have it on any of my other bikes

It’s so when you drop the chain, it doesn’t get stuck between the crank arm and chain ring.

:phow much for the mavic crankset?
