The Realest.. check it yo!

Heyy,

new to the fixie scene, going pretty well so far.

I’ve had my bike a week but only been usable since today.

Repco frame

I’ve put new cranks on
new rear wheel
new front caliper and brake leaver
new chain
and did decided i’d throw some grips on the bars but looks a bit dodgey haha

its going in for a powder coat soon, going to be a red and white combo.

parts used for now are mostly to get me riding, i will be building this up over a while and who knows how it will end up.

anyway here are some pics to get started

i like it.

i have the exact same frame sitting downstairs, from a looks perspective i really like it. but its too small so didn’t build it up.

but yeah nice build (loose the brake)

i chose to keep them because i live in the hills,

so i may need something to help slow down.

ill see how things turn out, if its not needed will get rid of it

why?

is it too tight?

new to the fixie scene,

Keep the god damn brake on. It’s cool to be able to control your bike.

+1, keep the brake, even though you said you were going to I just wanted to point out that Jakob is a dick hipster.

No one cares if you ride brakeless.

Keep the brake, keep your teeth, enjoy the build process.

exactly. it’s because of those dumb comments you see idiots wobbling all over the place that can’t control there bike. it’s dangerous to them, and other people.

Keep the brake and even upgrade it.

Hills or flat-your teeth are worth it.

just to clarify KEEPING THE BRAKES haha

had a right last night, coming down a hill, could have been pretty dangerous without them…

one thing i noticed is i need to practice getting my leg speed faster coming own.

was heaps disappointed my ride got rained out tonight though:(

of course you do calling people names is the way you boys roll…

to my man ryoD

knock the cable guides off cause you’ll rip shit up with you legs and clothing when you start not using your brakes…

and save the ‘loose the brakes’ steez for when you buy a track frame that an’t made for em…

nice whip dawg

Yeeww…

sugarKanye

aaah geez, sugakane you’re a worry man.

all of ya.

so they say…

so we all say.

this is the thing, a brakeless track bike is so much easier to stop on the streets than a brakeless conversion. you, um, planning on ghostriding that “whip”?

hahaha!
classic…i love the brakes/no brakes debate.

can’t say I have the need or a desire to ever own a conversion…
If a frame is set up fr brakes then you should run em…
I’ve had to pull into a few intersections and round abouts in Sydney at the bottom of a steep hill and not had the option to stop… I tend not to hit the street again.
In a flat city brakeless is a lot easier and safer…
At the end of the day it’s a matter of personal taste…

I’ve had to pull into a few intersections and round abouts in Sydney at the bottom of a steep hill and not had the option to stop… I tend not to hit the street again.

You’d soon be running out of options in Sydney of other streets to hit then…???

I’m talking bout silly steep stuff… I like ridding brakless it keeps you on ya toes…
