Love my totally absurd and over the top Paul track lockring removal tool. Two replaceable carbide teeth and scads of leverage…
I bought a 1/2 inch socket set a few years back, thinking that ‘bigger is better!’ and the size range was much larger than the 3/8 or 1/4inch socket sets, so of course it’d be more useful! Then I found out that the head was too big to fit into small crevices or the actual socket wouldn’t fit in some holes. It’s good for the big jobs, those are few and far between though.
So I bought a Stanley 1/4 and 3/8 socket set with some Bunnings Vouchers I had and my 1/2 socket set just sits in the bottom of the track day tool box now.
Also bought a set of these hex bits to use with the small socket set, to complement my Bondhus ball end set.
Ratchet spanners are also great, I barely use my 8 to 32mm (plus imperial equivalent!) spanner kit anymore.
Tools are great.
My most used tool at home and work:
they live in my back pocket and I only use the L-ball ended ones 10% of time where its a tricky to reach spot or I need more torque. Cheap to, ~$18 (bunnings) last forever, easier on your hands than L’s I reckon.
and fav spoke keys:
4 sided and double height for max grip on the nipple, easy on your thumb and wallet ~$10-$15

I’ve been looking for a 8/10mm ratchet spanner for ages i.e ring ratchet 8mm one end, 10mm ring ratchet the other. Handiest sizes for bikes.
I know I could just buy an 8 and a 10 kinchrome.
You know those dual bolt Campy seat posts that are next to impossible to adjust? This makes it so much easier. Think I got it with some flat pack furniture.
I bought a $2 shop screwdriver and got a mate to cut a slot in it in order to remove a rounded off nipple where the spoke was sticking out the end preventing me from using an ordinary flat screwdriver. Worked a treat!
i got these as a christmas present…to myself (not celebrating christmas has it’s perks in terms of spending money).
conclusion - nice box, nice hex keys, reasonable torxy bits, absolutely ridiculous price. would buy again because shiney.
I also got one of these off ebay:
it was $20 posted and is pretty nice quality, with a nice wooden handle.
very handy for hitting things that should move but don’t that cant be damaged by proper hammers. i use the one at work all the time to remove/‘press’ in tight cranks.
10mm ratcheting spanner works great for those posts.
Backed this one on Kickstarter when it was still called the Rápido Pro Pump Head. Arrived last week and just fit it to my Parktool pump this evening.
I was fed up with tearing up my hands on my spokes, hubs and track ends trying to get the normal pump head off my valves. Was also sick of those times where I bleed off so much air getting the head off I need to pump the tyre up again. This little gizmo makes it all a heck of a lot easier. Only tried it a couple of times so far, fingers crossed it holds up.
