Hey all,
I rekon itās bent. Back in my boat building days we used a timber called rock elm that when steamed could just about tied in a knot. It wasnāt that rigid but was durable. Used mainly in fit out.

i was in a clothing store on flinders lane for some saturday in design stuff, canāt remember the name of the shop, but it was a well known one, think it started with K or something, itās above eg.etal , anyway, they had a blu paconi with gold rims in the showroom, bent wood bars, and about 10 various shapep and coloured wooden bars on display, they look good. i saw one was made from two pieces of wood glued together, and one was just a single bent piece
Iāve seen a couple of Melb fashion āboutiquesā wack a track bike or BMX in the window. Anything to drag in those trendy melbourne types with their big dollars.
just because iād like to prove iām always right, i found this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMh75Q43Rb8
of the guy who makes the timber risers, about 3/4 of the way through he explains that they are made from timser laminations which are cut to shape and then routed into a circle with a curved router bit.
