Saw that on bikeradar yesterday, good article. 1994 last steel bike (Pegoretti), 1998 last aluminium bike (Bianchi). Aluminium had such a short time in the pro peleton, shame really.
I also finally found the year the 6.8kg weight limit was introduced (2000)
