Where should my girlfriend and I go for new years?

That’s a simple question right?
Less than 4 hours from Narre Warren by car
Forest or beach
Cheap, cheap 2 star motor inn
Local pub with vegetarian friendly options
A bottle shop
And yeah, so we’re totally up for suggestions.
The people we were going to go away with couldn’t get the house they were gonna hire for new years, so they’re going camping, and eww no way are we going to camp on a dirty ground and try an have a romantic and fun time with bugs and fucking kangaroos bouncing around our heads and that, ergh.
Where? What? How? Who else? Idfk, I’m really lost. We stayed in a cheap motel on the way home from Adelaide in mount gambier, checked out the lake, ate at the pub, bought a box of vodka/cranberry and some Canadian club, then sat in this $100 a night motel, just drinking and looking at the stars, and fiddling with the commodore, which had developed a fair coolant leak from a pinhole sized split in some rubber piping after I totally ignored a sign that I didn’t understand and got the car 1m in the air and landing over the other side of the road in something I didn’t even expect.
It was so nice though, almost more fun than hanging out in Adelaide itself. Maybe we were in the wrong part of Adelaide though, a spot with a beach and stuff. Adelaides city central bit was boo-oring too, nowhere to shop, that I could find anyway.

So yeah, were can we go for local scenery, food, and memorable times?

Thanks in advance, sexy and intelligent fixed.org

sydney

was about to say this oh my gawd… Get up here you derdy dawggg

That’s where I’m headed!

Marlo, just past Lakes Entrance, rad.

Shhhh yeah I’ll drive up to Sydney early Jan guys, come sleep o. Your couches an ride your bikes.
Marlo eh?

Very good suggestion, I love that area, if you can stretch it and get a bit further, my girlfriend and I really like Mallacoota too! Sleepy little village, down by the see etc etc.

Venus bay but you may need to book soon really nice chilled beach town and you get the added bonus of calling it penis bay all weekend if you are as childish as me. It has a really nice caravan park with cabins and caravans run by a cool Dutch couple with nice cats and a coffee shop.

you should go see that movie, new years eve. so topical!

Apollo Bay. Get some cheap room and hang out at the beach or something. Sweet as.

Marlo is seriously on the cards, there’s a little lodge there from $80 a night, and a nice country pub too!
And Venus bay eh? The subcontractor at work owns a house down there, but won’t lend it to me cos he doesn’t wanT me skeeting on his pillow and leaving it there for him.

Hey does anyone wanna come with? Idk, if anyone’s going somewhere with their girlfriend/boyfriend and wants to to a road trip with some frenz then I can run it by the lady friend. Drinks/lemonades at the pub together!

And if you go to Apollo Bay, you might have the pleasure of seeing me down there.
My awesome girlfriend has a house down there, so I frequent quite often. I love it down there, except winter is a heap more fun than summer holidays because there is no one around.
I think you might struggle to find somewhere cheap and that isn’t booked down there, it gets really busy, especially for new years.

So true about Winter. It’s great then. Beach is all stormy and no one around.

Berwick.

I was road tripping down south last year from Canberra and stayed a couple of nights at Lakes Entrance. I couldn’t wait to get the fuck outta that place… I wish I stayed at Malacoota instead but they didn’t have any room.

True. My dad has a house in Apollo Bay. I only go during winter (he rents it out during summer).
It’s an awesome place.

The grampians/venus baths? Beautiful countryside and great hiking. Venus baths are a natural rock formation thing that is pretty much a lil wet n wild made by nature, even has a slide if there is enough water.

+1, spent a lot of my child hood surfing skenes and jumping off the pier there.

I’m gonna spend so much time in bezza.

+1. this place is sick.
cape conran is meant to be awesome too but i never got there on my tour :frowning:
