Work Experience

frame builders.

All depends how far your willing to travel. Print resume’s, dress nicely, go and visit the shop introduce yourself nicely and be friendly

I have much love for Gonz, worked with him for a couple of years and learnt much.

This I don’t personally know the guy, I don’t know if he has time or wants work experience kids,
But his work looks amazing.

I’m in a trade myself and there is nothing worse than a half assed attitude.
But I have plenty of time for kids that have a good attitude and keen to work hard and learn.

Hello,
I am willing to travel anywhere i have to. it would be an advantage if I can go somewhere I can access via public transport; If it means I have to leave my house at 4:00am to get there on time, then that’s what I have to do.
I have contacted Ken Evans, and Ewen Gellie, both for work experience, but haven’t heard back from them yet. It is an approximate 2 hour commute from Bentleigh to either Geelong (Ken), or Kangaroo Grounds (Ewen). I am really keen to learn, as it may be something I think i would enjoy taking up as a career in the future.
Thanks

Is there anywhere I can find his (Gonz’s) work?

And as I said, I am really keen to learn as much as I can about everything, especially considering it is something I think I will (hopefully) make a career out of when I’m older.

I understand the half assed effort of a large majority of people my age, but if I was going to half ass it, I would apply for Bunnings, like the rest of my tafe, because they apparently pay better than the $5 a day minimum; but I’m not going to flunk it, I’m willing to commute for the 2 (or how ever many) hours it may take to get where I need to go to get the best possible opportunity, and experience I can; and earn the $5 a day minimum.

Thanks

hey bill, maybe have a look here: http://www.fixed.org.au/forums/f8/cazs-custom-kumo-track-machine-step-step-25290/ and ask brake free his thoughts. he’s not local, but he’s ace he may be able to steer you in the right direction.

Thanks very much Mckenny,

Bill

alright, because i like your attitude (and also because i know the search function is pretty much useless), you should try hillman cycles (brunswick), darren baum at baum (i know, right… but apparently he does occasionally take work experience kids, and is in geelong), kevin wigham at paconi (braeside), raoul luescher at luescherteknik (alphington, carbon specialist but knows bikes and geometry), or walk down to DISC (thornbury) and talk to darryl perkins from perkins. actually, he might be your best bet, because he might be looking to pass on his expertise. and i’m pretty sure he lives somewhere down near you.

or, you know, adrian sansonetti at BT. they’re in bundoora. no point mentioning your welding skills there though.

Thank you for your help Brendan,
I’ll head into Paconi Cycles tomorrow as they are riding distance from school.Ill let you know how I go, wish me luck; and thanks to everyone that helped.

say hi to kevin, he’s a mad dog

who do I tell him its from? a heavy metal cyclist?

correction: THE heavy metal cyclist

If your attitude on here comes across in real life I’m sure you will have no problem getting some experience.

Goodluck, and let us know how it goes…

I like the cut of this kid’s jib.

haha.

he won’t know me. I’ve only spoken to him on the phone.

what’s a jib?

haha, promote that man.

Me too.

it’s my first day

Hay Oatsy, make sure you get the right heavy metal, okay?

This point is critical. Cos I have no cred with any of these people.

So Oatsy, you can ruin heavy metals cred before it has even begun
