Just putting this out there for anyone who might be interested -
A good friend of mine is a youth worker based at the Tuggeranong and Weston Creek youth centres. About 2 months ago he set up a workshop and has a group of 6 kids that get togther once a week and fix-up/tinker around with bikes.
He isn’t a bike mechanic but is having a great time learning as he goes along aswell as helping the kids learn aswell. He has recently asked me if i’d like to come along and help-out/hang-out and is also keen for other guys to get on board.
The purpose of the wokshop is to give kids from a disadvantaged background a positive environment to hang-out and learn some hands-on skills aswell as have some fun working on bike maintinance, builds and restorations.
If anyone is interested in volunteering 3 hours on a tuesday afternoon whenever they can and as often as they’d like get in contact with me via PM and i’ll pass on your details.
