Just noticed my Record crankset is 151 BCD, not 144 (as eBay advertised). It came with 5 chainrings (46, 47, 51, 52, 54). Using the 46 atm, and was going to sell the others, but I am afraid I won’t be able to find 151’s easy/cheaply in the future.
Would 151’s be more expensive than 144’s? (I’ll keep them, if this is the case).
Thanks all.
F"&kin hate eBay dodgy sellers. Second time I’ve been misled in as many months.
If someone is looking for the same c’rings as you mayb it may be hard and you’ll have to wait to next time or pay the price… But in many cases you can find them easy enough if you hunt.
I got a 49t Shimano track 151bcd if you ever wanted it. Some old Dura Ace cranks are 151bcd aswell.
User ‘Hamish’ on this forum tried to sell 4 different 151bcd chainrings. Listed them at $50 originally, no buyers. Dropped to $30. Don’t think they sold even then though.
tooth count will determine the price. More teeth = lower price. Anything 50 teeth or higher wont get so much. This is presuming that they are track width. Hang onto at least one of the bigger ones incase you ever decide to hit the velodrome.
They can go for dirt cheap often when there’s no one bidding. I’ve watched njs ones like mine in a high 40’s size go for about $40.
Might be interested in the 47t if its going cheap.
Thanks for the reply guys… The eBayer offered a refund, but don’t know if I should accept. I probably wouldn’t be able to get Polished Campy cranks + 5 chainrings for under 200…
if you sell any of them you will regret it as it will be a pain to replace them ‘when’ you want to use a different ring - keep the whole set together. 151s can be a bit iffy, sometimes they will go for $10 sometimes $50, depends who is looking for one at the time you sell.
if you wanted to sell the lot or some sort of split i might be interested…?
