1987 French Altec alum whippet project

Anyone got any ideas on era correct lightweight bars

Jubilee turned up today… they really are a work of art…

ZEUS NEW RACER CHAINWHEEL SET | eBay

while not French its geographically close enuf and for sale by pretty reputable guys

Modolo shifters arrived and were promptly fitted

Put the frames set including rear derailleur, shifters headset and 7400 BB on the scales and that came in at 2.64kg which is ok…

Stronglight quill type seat post is a heavy weight tho at 330grams… Might need to get the drill press out…

Did some polishing over the weekend… Shit photo tho…

Wheel set turned up…

And they spin forever

And weight with wheels

This has gone from sizzling to very sexy. Good to see you bagged the Roval’s

Now to decide on tubulars… And find brake levers, front derailleur and saddle…

Then swap the 7400 BB for a Ti spindled OMAS or SR… Just a nightmare to find one with French thread

this is looking good!, I enjoy the more unusual part by part builds.

but how did you get yourself in the picture? timer?

Anyone got number 1 and 8 in alloy??? any brand …

I’ve got a couple of pairs of mavic retro friction braze ones, if you want to keep the French theme? I’ve used them with a 10 speed!

It doesnt happen often, but I’m majorly jealous of those wheels. Epic.

they are super nice and spin forever… also well before their time… 23mm rim

23mm internal, or overall?

Doesn’t matter, as these are tubs. Being wider gives more gluing surface though, and that’s good.

(I’d bet the overall width is 23mm though)

23mm not really a lip to take internal measurement off as they come to a point

I missed the part about tubs, still 23 is nice

how about Zeus BBs? They do come in Ti as well if you’re getting the 2001 range

I have a Ti SR BB spindle if you can find cups to match it.
