And this is how it looks for the moment.
I wanted to wait for new cranks, but I can’t really afford it, so just used the Messengers I had in the garage and were on this previously.
Changes from original build;
Shimano XT V brakes.
Tektro RL520 levers.
SRAM cables.
Easton ergo road bar.
100mm Deda stem.
37mm Continental Touring Plus tyres.
I need to adjust the brakes, not having barrel adjusters sucks. Otherwise it is alright. I’ve got it geared at 42:18 so it is a nice and cruisy.
Yeah, they seem too. I’ve got the pads out away from the rim, and can still rip a mean skid without the lever coming close to touching the bars when pulled in.
Such a scientific answer.
I needed to try something different, I wasn’t riding this bike the way it was, so we’ll see how it all goes. I’m dedicated to sticking with them for a while though.
SS cross bike with fat tyres is my ideal commuter/do it all bike. Usually rock the kojaks but would swap out for 45mm resist nomads for fun/better gravel capabilities.
This afternoon I criss crossed all over the city on this bike.
I really like its current set up, except I need more cushion in my bar tape, the stuff I’ve got on is too thin.
I’ve even got into used all the different hand positions available.
