In the last year I’ve been lucky enough to tick two bikes off my 'bikes to own before I die" list. The first was my tk2 that I bought in december last year, the second is this Look.
Full 600 but for the headset which is campy. It came with a look ergo stem and tri bars, thanks to user sugarkane for putting proper bars on and sorting the gears out, and thanks to lewis for the bars/brifters.
The previous owner said he’d used it for 3 triathlons since he bought it in 1995, and from the condition the bike is in I’m inclined to believe him.
I don’t know anything about the particular model (or what size it is) and I can’t find any info on the Look 860 Aeroblade anywhere. It’s so frustrating searching for Look as pretty much everything comes up, none of it useful. It even has look rims, which I’d like to know more about. I’m pretty damn happy with how it rides, it has one of the best feeling pedaling positions I’ve ever felt.
It’s still pretty rough at the moment as it’s not a pay week. I need some bar ends that fit, a stem about 80mm or so as this one is made of wet spaghetti, and perhaps a proper seat post as this has too much set-back.
Seriously, if that thing has done more than a couple hundred ks total I’ll eat my chamois. I don’t reckon it had spent more than about 10 hours outside til you bought it.
And Evan reckons the rims were made by Sun(??) but branded as Look. Either way, they’re freakin nice.
I have had a couple of these and they are prone to cracking on the inside of pivot points of the link part. Take it apart and give it a close “look” ha ha.
its a nice bike!
a new seat post and the right length stem and it’ll be soo sweet!
i think you should hunt down a cassette with a 23t cog as well as thats going to be to much hard work up a decent climb…
there was some impressed fixed gear riders the other night when you and i came past the lead pack on to that bridge like they were standing still…
