Not sure if you care whether or not it’s north or south side, but I can speak from my experience in the north.
I’d say you couldn’t go wrong with Cycle City in Lynham and Mal Adjusted in Dickson, both employ helpful workers who actually ride and sometimes frequent this forum. They also have a sizeable range of interesting stock in any c-o-l-o-u-r-w-a-y you so desire…the guys at Mal’s drink Coopers…
Bike Culture in O’connor is the go.
Cycle City and Mals are pretty good too though
Mal Adjusted gets my 2 votes.
Because they have wit, bicycles and a pocketful of shit-hot shop.
I’ve never had a problem with the guys from Lonsdale Cyclery in Braddon. Others might disagree though
I think I’m one of the rare few who have never had a ‘problem’ with a shop, sometimes I’m just ‘disapointed’ at their attitude or stock or reason for existence. If they ride bikes and are passionate about bikes, I like them.
LSC has come in handy a few times when in Civic!
(Yes I seem to live on this forum, it’s because it’s all black and white text so it looks like I’m doing work when I’m at work…sad I know)
In terms of an LBS I use The Bike Superstore in Mitchell. But thats for my dirt riding.
Fixie wise, hit up Mals. The guys there are cool as and they know their stuff. Cut you good deals if you keep going back as well.
The best bike shop in Canberra is your own garage.
agreed!, mal for fixie, cycle surgey in florey not to bad either their good with little fiddly parts like bolts and so on
ive gone to mals and i think theyre a little overpriced, however very good stock. i personally go to onya bike in civic cos its the closest
The shop with good stock that’s a little overpriced is the best shop, as all shops will price match with other local shops
